Rockford, IL - GDS, Inc. (Global Display Solutions), a world leader in display technology for outdoor digital signage, was selected as the display manufacturer for the Loop Link project. Chosen for their demonstrated reliability and performance on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train platform, GDS is supplying 38” full outdoor, sunlight readable LCD displays. The digital signage is being rolled out at eight Loop Link transit shelters featuring longer boarding platforms with Bus Tracker screens to enhance the customer experience.
We know outdoor!
The 38” MIDAS Stretch is an ultra-wide outdoor display capable of operating in all weather conditions. Built in to each display is an embedded PC system which monitors the health and well-being of the display and communicates directly with the content management system. All MIDAS displays come with G+Bond enhanced optical bonding to provide the sharpest image, to guard against vandalism and to provide greater safety in case the front glass is broken. This also prevents dust accumulation or condensation on the LCD.
These displays run 24/7 to provide passengers with status of scheduled stops and
emergency notifications for up to the minute information which streamlines the rider’s
commute.
